My students are experiencing or have experienced significant trauma in their short lifetime. We are noticing that their basic needs are not being met within the home, and this is negatively affecting their learning at school.
We want to give these students a chance to be provided with a space at school that will provide an environment that will promote love, care, belonging, safety, and security.
The materials I chose for our project would be used to create a home-like environment at school in an attempt to provide trauma-informed services such as counseling, therapy, and coping skills instruction in order to promote successful learning within the school day.
