These materials will help all middle school students with executive functions and adding tools to their social emotional tool box. It is vital for us to support the child holistically, in order to foster overall academic success. Meeting the needs of my students to ensure increased academic achievement is my goal. Each year, I look to add more of a welcoming environment within the counseling safe haven. Additionally, each year I aim to increase social emotional and psychoeducational learning and opportunities within the school. Furthermore, these materials will help me, as the counselor, facilitate school counseling sessions and lessons for the following school year. These materials will help me keep my students engaged in the classroom. As our school counseling programs grows here at EMHCS, the more materials are needed. The teachers pay teachers gift card will be used for much needed social emotional activities and bulletins, to keep our students enriched with the most up to date information. Teachers pay teachers will also help with creativity in the counseling setting, and allow me to have ample resource when doing lessons. The Big Joe bean bag chairs are for when students are sent down to my office or come down to my office for individual or group talk therapy. This will allow them a comfortable and inviting place to share and make progression with what they are struggling with. The power strip is something that is needed in the counseling office, for when student are occupying space and multiples of them need to charge Chromebook. The mindfulness and fun social skills games are to help students use and become practiced with mindful practices. Mindfulness helps with reactivity and ability to navigate difficult situations. The two chargers are for in counseling office use, when students forget their chargers.
