In our special education classroom we are working on how to understand what we are feeling and identifying what we need to help us to be successful.
We would love to have a calm down corner to help us when we become overwhelmed. This will help us to know where we can go to be in a safe place for us to figure out how we are feeling. The shelf will be filled with different tools we can use to help bring us to our peaceful spot. The pillow will give us a place to sit in our calm down corner and help remind us to meditate to find our peaceful spot.
The "Spot of Emotions" books help us identify the what we may be feeling. It will help us to be able to have a variety of emotions to use and they will also help us identify different ways to help regulate our emotions. The plushies will be good for us to pull out when we cannot find the words to what we are feeling.
We also would love to have some wobble cushions and kick bands to help us focus. There are times where it is difficult for us to stay focused. It helps us to have different tools to use so that we are able to move our bodies to help us focus.
