Our emerging Makerspace area is intended to support classroom learning. LEGO bricks will help students visualize and solve word problems in math classes or build models for science. For inventing and experimenting with musical instruments and electronic circuits, the Makey Makey kit will spark students' imaginations. The markers and Rubik's cubes will be used to create group art projects in the styles of various artistic movements.
Students will love creating videos of themselves in historical contexts, taking on the personas of figures from the past or becoming science experts explaining weather phenomena or how they used the scientific method to conduct their experiments. They will also record publicity for different events going on in our school (band programs, bookfairs, etc.) that can then be published on the school webpages.
