The use of technology in my P.E. class is done every day. My classes understand the importance of technology and we value all of the learning tools we can use. Incorporating the use of an iPad will allow me the opportunity to enhance student learning whether they join class from their homes or physically in campus. Currently, I have students who show up to campus and others who stay home and log on via google classrooms for virtual instruction. This provides a great challenge as I want to have the ability to make my classes as “normal” as possible. Whether we are learning about the foundations of personal fitness or completing a workout, using an iPad provides me the opportunity to move outdoors with the students who are on campus while being logged in to class for those at home and providing the same educational experience for both groups. Being a P.E. teacher, approximately 18 miles west of one of the most obese cities in the U.S. (McAllen, TX), I wish to continue to teach the importance of physical fitness to all of my students and help reduce that obesity rate.
By donating to our project, you will not only help guide students towards the right fitness step, but ultimately you are helping increase their academic achievement through the use of technology.
Students will have to opportunity to complete their P.E. class in an environment much like that of which we have when everybody is on campus. Plus, nowadays staying up to date with new technology is extremely important as we hope to continue to increase their desire to learn as we use the new technology.
