In order for our children to succeed, they need to have the necessary resources to do so. Items such as notebooks, pencils, erasers, rulers, dry erase boards, markers, and most importantly, books, are what our children will be using to create, learn, and experience life.
Whether I was in the classroom or not, reading books were always an exciting and fun part of the day. The children looked forward to reading about things that they were interested in, or just being able to let their minds escape to a different place or time. In order to do this, I need to provide them with a wide variety of books, not only at the 4th grade level, but at all levels.
Books give our children hope and dreams for the future. Children strive to become good readers, when they find a book(s) they want to read.
The Covid-19 pandemic has made it even more financially challenging for many families in our school community. A community made up of mostly English Learners and disadvantaged families that were already struggling to provide their children with the basic needs such as food, clothing, and for some, shelter.
I don't want my children or their families to ever have to worry about whether or not they will be able to afford the supplies that they need to succeed.
Please help me transform these precious children, into well rounded and successful adults, by supporting our project, "Need to Succeed."
