Our special education preschool classroom has a wonderful outdoor fenced-in area that will be perfect for extending our learning to the outdoors once we get it fixed up. The space currently is exposed to the sun all day and has old and worn-out play equipment. Once we get it ramped up with a sun shade, outdoor furniture, sensory equipment, and gross motor materials it will be an ideal space for us to garden, do gross motor activities, have outdoor storytime, and outdoor circle time. We are really looking forward to lessons around native plants, growing our own food, making healthy choices, and more! I have already written and received a grant for the awning and am working with the PTSA to get some equipment, however, it's all pretty expensive and we hope to purchase items that will last for many years. We will also be inviting the kindergarten students to join us in the newly remodeled outdoor learning space for special activities. I really appreciate your consideration.
