Through expanding the novels that I have available to my students will allow them to grow as readers. My classroom library is has a range of novels and reading levels to allow me to best meet the needs of all of the readers in my classes. I want them to be able to explore ideas, perspectives, and cultures through reading. Every novel in my classroom library is treated with respect and care. All of these novels have been chosen with my student's interests and reading capability in mind. These novels will encourage students to become better readers and grow their love for reading.
By adding these novels to my classroom library, students will have more options to choose from that strengthen their love for reading and knowledge of the world around them.
When my middle school students first enter my classroom at the beginning of the year, they typically state they hate reading. I make it my goal to find novels that all my students like that help them to gain that interest and desire to read. I want to continue to provide students with a variety of novels that spark their love for reading and expanding my classroom library will do just that!
