Flexible seating is a must for a growing mind. When students are not distracted by a hard seat with no alternative they can become frustrated and annoyed. Flexible seating gives the students control over where they want to sit and what seat will help them learn best that day.
Some students in my class have emotional needs and may need to come to my room to cool down from their big emotions. Having a comfortable seat that they can relax in can help regulate their emotions with the feeling of comfort from the flexible seating.
Finally, I have noticed that my students are happier and more engaged in their learning when they have the option of a flexible seating choice.
