Color coded organization is so beneficial to helping students with special needs gain independence. Each student is assigned a color. Their color is used to store their bins, place their backpacks, and gather/return their materials. All on their own! When students associate a color with their belongings they can move throughout the room with minimal prompting from their teachers. As a special education teacher, along with academics, teaching life skills are crucial to me. The best way I can help my students is by teaching them how to gain independence. The materials will help me accomplish this!
