The supplies I receive will go toward creating a safe and supportive learning environment. Since I teach math, most of the learning we do in my class involves writing with pencils on paper.
Many of my students do not consistently have these basic supplies, so I provide them in an open-access space for students to use without drawing attention.
I also have many students who are hungry throughout the day. I provide the little snacks to the students who need it to motivate them and increase focus during class.
All of these supplies help me to build a relationship of trust and care with my students.
