As a first year teacher, teaching during this pandemic has been challenging. It has changed the way we teach and the way students learn. It specifically has affected the way students get access to their favorite books to read. Many of our students do not have access to read the books they desire because the libraries are not offering physical books to rent out or due to economic struggles. With these books I will be able to provide my students with access to a variety of their favorite books to bring home. The books I have chosen are books that my students have an interested in. My students will be able to choose books they would like to read, bring them home, and bring them back in a safely manner. The students struggle to read through the online websites due to not finding interest in the book selections therefore, these books will help motivate them to continue to practice independent reading at home.
