This book, Indian No More, is a book that is written about Native Americans by a Native American. The students connect and understand some of the things that happen in the life of Regina, the main character. The students learn about how life was like for different people of color during the 1950s.
Brave and fearless conversations about equity are an important part of our learning. In our class, we have fearless conversations about topics that are difficult for many to discuss. This book creates a character and opens the door for a diverse viewpoint for many of my students.
