Being a virtual teacher has presented its own set of challenges this school year. One of the most difficult challenges to overcome has been writing in real time where my students can see me as I work out problems and write down my thinking.
Being limited to a chromebook has made virtual learning very difficult.
Only having a mouse to use to write with has been a challenge in itself. Also, being limited to one area of the classroom has made it difficult to use the resources around the class to help educate my students. With an IPad, I can maneuver through the class as I teach without any disruptions or difficulties. There is also a limited amount of programs available on the chromebook. With an IPad I will be able to use programs like screen record. Recording videos and my screen as I teach has been very limited to apps that are not necessarily made for recording videos. The app store will allow me to download apps that my district has blocked from our chromebooks.
With an IPad I have the opportunity to expand my virtual classroom. I am looking to replace my chromebook with an IPad to give myself more versatile options when teaching.
