What makes a great Ceramics class and program is safety yet creative freedom. Our supplies are currently down in the single digits and as such, it seriously limits a student's ingenuity and practice. Additionally, Ceramics creates an inordinate amount of dust and without a vacuum to clean it, there is a direct and negative impact on students' health. Therefore, we need your help to get my students what they need to practice Ceramics in a safe and well-stocked environment!
The ceramics studio is a place where students are able to decompress, step away from screens, and become fully immersed in a completely tactile experience.
The Ceramics program serves as a unique outlet for kids' creativity and energy in a time and place where that often gets sidelined. It fosters patience, right brain development, and refines hand-eye coordination. Furthermore, it's a practice that allows students to try something they’ve always been meaning to try while connecting with a medium that has been around for thousands of years. Having these tools(shop vacuum, plaster, glaze, etc.) can only enhance the skills and opportunities that Ceramics can bring to a student's life.
