These materials take something on paper and bring it to life! They will be making a replica of a small stellated dodecahedron out of straws and curling ribbon as an introduction to their high school geometry class! We will do some research about this shape and learn about vocabulary such as vertices, faces, convex and polyhedra!
By stringing curling ribbon through straws and making a series of knots, the 3-D small stellated dodecahedron will come to life! I have used this project every year I've been teaching and it always brings a smile to my students' faces!
