These materials will help incorporate technology as well as excitement into our school day. The ipad and pencil will allow learners have access to technology they would not otherwise have access to. I will be able to better screen share and demonstrate writing and math virtually. The headphones will allow my learners to work and participate in class without outside noise distractions. School and home come with a lot of distractions and it is important for learners to have a way to focus on their studies.
The games and outdoor materials are beneficial to socially and emotionally connect with peers. Games help us to connect with others and play is the work of children. When learners interact with each other in a positive and fun manner, it can positively affect their education as well. The fidget tools are also useful for learners who need to move to focus. These tools, when use correctly can help a learner focus on the lesson, and not feel the need to move around as much. Candy Land will encourage turn taking, and balls and jump ropes at recess will encourage collaborative play.
These books have been picked out with my learners in mind. I want to daily encourage a love of reading and words. When we read the stories of others, we are able to reflect on our own lives and how we best fit in their world. The book boxes will be filled with reading material to enhance each learners reading ability.
