I teach a filmmaking class where I use iconic movies as the foundation of my lessons. In recent years, I have realized that most of those films offer the perspective of only white men, and I want to broaden that perspective to better match the diversity of all of my students. I have changed out many of these films from the lessons, and now I need to update the posters that decorate our classroom as we move to a new building. It is important for kids to see themselves represented.
