I teach reading and language arts to seventh graders. One group of these great kids is an accelerated class. I'm always looking for ways to challenge them as readers and writers, and I aim to get them reflecting on their values, analyzing the world around them, and making connections between their world and the worlds we read about in literature. This year's group is very enthusiastic, motivated, and willing to work well together. They are eager for opportunities to read challenging material that is different than what they normally encounter. They love to work with others, discussing challenging concepts and working on creative responses and projects.
