I am so lucky to be able to teach elementary students from grades K-5. Every day I get to wake up and share my passion for music with my students and I wouldn't have it any other way. With this project I will be able to provide instruments to my students allowing them to receive a much higher quality of music education.
Once this project is fulfilled, students will finally have enough musical instruments to be able to perform, create, and explore music fully and without limitation. Due to distance learning last year, students did not have access to any musical instruments. Finally, we are back in person and students are more eager than ever to play instruments. Unfortunately, I have a very limited instrument selection and are often students left without a chance to play. I am striving to give all my students greater access to musical instruments.
Music class is an extremely important social and emotional outlet for these students. Instruments that are requested in the project will make a positive impact on students wellbeing by giving them a means to express themselves when otherwise they could not.
These instruments have staying power and the longevity of their lives will mean that 1000's of students over the years will reap the benefits of this project.
