In my current classroom, I am lacking fun, hands-on activities that can motivate students to engage in tactile learning. Students from this low-income community often miss out on rich learning activities for lack of funding. This upcoming year, my goal is to create sensory activities that facilitate connections in literacy and mathematics. In my classes, I usually have English Learners and Students with Special needs. This will be especially helpful for these students to be able to physically engage with. I have chosen materials for learning centers, small groups, and whole group activities. These activities will support the learning of: digraphs, blends, short vowel words, geography, place values, and social emotional learning.
