My students are all ready to get these instruments in their hands. My chorus groups love singing and are beyond excited about the chance to be able to accompany themselves. They love making music as a group, but they can't wait for an opportunity to become complete individual performers by playing their own accompaniment. Of course, we will use the instruments in class to accompany group and individual singing, but we will be doing so much more. The ukuleles will help us explore music reading and music theory in a much more tangible way. We also hope to use our new instruments to create our own songs as we grow as young composers.
