I'm so excited to officially get my own classroom. The students I have coming up from Kindergarten spent a great amount of time online, therefore, they didn't get many chances to flip through and explore books. I want my students to love reading and enjoy picking up a new book. I want to be able to provide my students with diverse and inclusive texts that any of them can relate to. 1st grade is so important when it comes to reading because this is where the passion for reading starts! It is so important to have many options available to students at this age so they can figure out whaat type of books they enjoy the most.

About my class
