I would like to get my students moving and showing all their music skills in my classroom with the use of egg shakers and rhythm sticks. Students will have a music kit assigned to them during face-to-face instruction on campus.
I have selected egg shakers because I would like something that is easy to clean, and rhythm sticks since most of my students have been using spoons and found sound instruments at home.
I hope to continue the joy of music-making once we are reunited at school! The students will love shaking their eggs to the steady beat and doing all kinds of movement activities with an instrument that has been assigned to them. The rhythm sticks will be a great thing for steady beat activities and they can be used to read and play music rhythms. Giving the students an instrument will help them learn in my class and also has so many benefits including building confidence and creativity, and those benefits can even be seen in their regular classroom. Music is so important!
