The purpose of this project is to help students gain understanding of money and to apply it to their lives. It will connect the abstract idea of money to the physical coins and bills that they will use daily.
Funding this project will provide three second grade classrooms (approximately 80 students) with the materials they will need to participate in a year-long classroom economy.
Students will earn play money for a variety of things in the classroom. They will learn to save money and purchase items from our class store for their Desk Pet.
