A calming corner is a great place where my students can come in to calm down. Some of our students are having a hard time transitioning back to school after an entire year out. We have seen that they are lacking the skills to cope with their emotions. Allowing them time to regroup by providing a comfortable place to sit and focus on grounding exercises and that is why I have included sensory products. I would also like for them to use play to express their feelings, so I added puppets. Before a child can begin to learn, we need to meet their social and emotional needs first.
