I am requesting a mouse and headphones for each of my students, so they can complete their work on their Chromebooks. We have adopted quite a few programs to help bridge the gaps in learning that have occurred through the challenges of Covid - 19 during the 2019 - 2020 and 2020 and 2021 school years. These programs are amazing because they provide individualized instruction for each child, they require headphones and a mouse in order to use them to the fullest. Also, we are going to use a lot of our Google resources used during virtual learning will be modified, so students can collaborate and utilize technology while in the classroom.
A lot of our students come to school with few or no school supplies and Headphones are always the last thing to be considered when parents send in supplies. They work on their reading and math skills for almost an hour a week. They also get a chance to read to our district-wide AI teacher to work on their phonics and fluency skills. While they are fabulous programs, the use of headphones makes it easier for my students to hear and speak to the programs clearly.
