Reading is the foundation of learning, what happens in childhood can matter for a lifetime. I want to help my students become lifelong readers by developing their love of reading now. By providing choice in where they sit and what they read, students feel empowered, take control of their learning and become self motivated readers. When students feel comfort in an academic setting, they are better able to learn, grow and remain engaged. Providing choice also gives students the opportunity to move and activate more parts of their brain. In addition, the reading options selected will expose students to books about diversity, leadership, and positive classroom culture in order to help develop the whole child.

About my class
