We are transitioning into purposeful play in our Kindergarten classroom. This will give my students a chance to learn through hands on interactions with their classmates. This new opportunity is bringing core life skills into our everyday classroom as well as creating an open learning environment.
Bringing back play such as kitchens, puppet theaters, vet offices, and campfires will allow more time for my students to learn through each other with hands on material.
Our hope is with this purposeful play it will provide more data and assessment information than we have received in years previous. I will be able to include writing, counting, reading, and more to each purposeful play station.
