Two of the most loved aspects of my classroom are when students are able to choose their own seat as well as choose the center activity that is most interesting to them. Through this project, students will have more seating options to choose the seat that will benefit their focus in the classroom. Students love the option to choose a seat that is best for their learning style.
Also, the organizational items will allow students a more organized way to choose their center and maximize learning time. There will be less confusion and a more streamlined system for students to pick a center that not only is of high interest to them but will also work on essential educational skills in both math and reading. By having the rolling carts with drawers, centers will be able to be organized by day of the week as well as ability levels. The carts will allow the centers to be color coded making it easier for students to know which centers are appropriate for their learning. The baskets will allow materials that are needed for center work to be organized and easily accessible to students.
