These materials will allow students to check out the books that have been donated by the community and grow their love of reading. As a school librarian in a large school with a small budget, I have had to find creative ways to grow the collection. I have been lucky to have been given a lot of books that I know my students will love but getting these books ready to check out is a time consuming process. The label maker and supporting materials will make this process go so much faster and will get these books into the hands of my students!
My dream for my library is for all students to be able to find a book they're excited to read and have ownership of the library space. Many of my students love to help in the library. The label maker will make the barcodes and spine labels clear and easy to read- this will allow students to help sort and shelve the books. With training, I could also have interested students help get the books ready for checkout as well.
