Flexible seating helps students with various needs stay focused and participate in class more effectively. I want to be able to provide options for my reading students to stay engaged and decrease disruptions through with different flexible seating options.
In our reading class, we use small groups, and having seating options throughout the room will encourage these small groups to work cohesively and still allow the movement that my students needs throughout class time.
Giving students choices such a beanbag chair, wobble seat, or a pillow to lay on increases their engagement during class by allowing them necessary movement, but doesn't disrupt others. I am excited to have this in my classroom to benefit my reading students!
