The different flexible seating options that I chose will enhance my students' learning by allowing them to choose what is best for them and their learning style as well as put them in charge by allowing them to choose a safe, engaging learning spot in our classroom. I believe in giving students a choice when it comes to making decisions, problem solving, and learning. Giving them a choice for their seating sets them up for success in their own learning.
Right now, my school has a variety of different tables, many too big for Kindergartners. The funding of this project will allow me to offer my students multiple different options that will best support them through out the day to reach their highest potential in and out of the classroom. The students will be able to pick from wiggle seats, donut balls, regular desks and tables, surf desks, and lap desk. Additionally each child who chooses to sit in a normal chair will have the option of putting a wiggle band down by their feet!
Many of my co-workers and teacher friends have shared how flexible seating has changed their classrooms for the better, and I am excited to implement this into my classroom!
