The very needed headphones for my class will be used with the new Chromebooks obtained for our first grade class this year. With new headphones, students will be able to log into their phonetic reading and math practices without hearing the noise of other students working around them. The headphones would help our 22 first grade students continue to learn and gain abilities in Phonological Awareness: RF.2 (a, b, c, d ); Phonics and Word Recognition RF.1.3 (a-g); as well as independently practicing problems involving addition and subtraction 1.0A. and 1.0B they are learning in our class.
Many first graders are easily distracted and headphones would greatly help all of them to focus and learn better. Until this year, my first graders shared and scheduled the same set of headphones and Chromebooks with multiple classes in the other grades. Now we have the Chromebooks but no headphones.
Headphones for our class would also be much more Covid and germ friendly as there is less chance for students to share germs. Please help. Headphones for a rural Nevada small town, with a large class, during Covid, are very needed.
