We are presently using the reading program, Benchmark, and throughout this series of units there were many excerpts of novels. Anne Frank and Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry were among them. My kids were motivated to learn more about biographies and accurate history... The Diary of a Young Girl (Anne Frank) , Surviving Hitler (WWII), Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, and recently reading the Three Dictators of the 20th Century. Now they are working on their Hispanic Hertiage Month projects. They are learning about Pablo Picasso, Desi Arnaz, Ellen Ochoa, Selena, Roberto Clemente, Celia Cruz, Rita Hayworth, Ritchie Valens, Cesar Chavez and many more. Their passion encouraged this project. The kids are creating beautiful, visuals of these legends on Canva and Powerpoint. As an educator, I want them to see their work printed in COLOR to be shown in the classroom and throughout our school! Thank you!
