My students love listening to stories and would listen to various books in our library all day if they were able to. Many students spend a lot of their center time asking for adults in the room to read different stories to them. It's not always possible to spend all of center time reading one on one with students. This is why I would like to create a listening center for choice time. Students will be able to choose a book and listen to it while also looking at their own copy of the book. This will give students the opportunity to work on book handling skills while enjoying listening to a story of their choosing.
