Although these items are not going toward a specific standard, these materials will fulfill COVID-related learning needs. I am requesting these items to help students transition to full-time in person learning. Many of my students are growing tired of being confined to the traditional desk and chair and benefit from movement and alternative seating. Other items are for small group literacy instruction and to create instructional materials with.
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where and how to work. The wobble stools, foot bands and cushions help give students a bit of movement while sitting. The plastic phones have an echo so students can hear and critique themselves reading aloud. The laminator and astro bright paper are for creating learning materials and the light covers are to cover some of the harsh overhead lighting because our room does not have windows. Overall, these materials will make room 24 a more comfortable and happy place to learn!
