I am asking for support to purchase a rug for our classroom next year, I have been teaching for 3 years but this will be my first year with my own classroom. The data I have seen shows that students love to come together somewhere special other than their desk. I want to give them that freedom to grab a clipboard and come learn on the rug.
I want to host family meetings on our rug and talk about how this rug is ours and makes us a family to talk and share our feelings. It will give the students something beautiful in our room that makes them smile when they walk in instead of a brown carpet. We don't have any windows in our classroom so it is my hope to fill our room with nature and plants and lots of color so that even though we don't receive sunlight, they can still come in and feel the happiness of our classroom.
