Students coming off of a pandemic have experienced a new way of learning. Being able to attend school virtually from their home (bed, couch, floor, etc.) has impacted how they learn in the typical desk and chair classroom. Flexible seating will give students the choice to complete their learning in a way that works best for them. Currently, my students only have the option of completing their work from their desks. As kindergarteners, they struggle to sit for an extended amount of time. Providing options that allow them to be comfortable will help to motivate and engage them in learning. Building a positive association with the school is extremely valuable as my district struggles with attendance rates.
