In theatre, one of the first things an audience member will notice about the characters on stage is their costumes. Costumes tell a lot about a character which includes but is not limited to time period, economic status, and how they feel about themselves. Many times when preparing productions we the need the ability to create original costumes that can not be bought from the nearest store.
The purpose of this project is to allow the students the ability to create original clothing that they will design themselves. They will also be able to learn the basics of costume construction which can later be explored further in college or could be turned into a career for them.
