My scholars are learning to use different strategies to help them calm and regulate themselves when they are feeling big emotions, stressed, or having a hard time keeping themselves focused. These strategies will help them keep focus and attend to their schoolwork, so that they can achieve all of their learning goals, while also building stronger social, emotional and self-regulation skills.
They need to learn the strategies that work for each of them and many of these strategies involve using items for sensory needs and mindfulness activities.
Having a variety of choices of activities and objects to help them develop these strategies will be essential to the learning process for them. With these items, I can update our reflection zone in the classroom, as well as provide my scholars with a wider variety of tools to use during instruction and throughout their day to allow them to figure out what works best for their needs.
About my class
