The materials I am requesting will create a diverse library for my students to enjoy. Most of my students come from diverse backgrounds, and more often than not they do not see themselves represented in children's literature. I am working to create a library where my students not only see themselves within the books they read but also get a chance to experience other cultures and learn to accept everyone for being different. I have also added many social/emotional books to help my students manage their emotions, especially after the trauma caused by the pandemic.
