When kids see themselves in books, and can learn from those characters, they become more invested in reading. This helps students to become better readers and to be successful in the future. My students will use these books in our independent reading time. Students will use them daily as they practice their reading strategies. I will work with students in small groups and one-on-one to teach strategies. These books will also be used to teach life lessons.
