The books selected in my project will benefit my students in a variety of ways. First and foremost, I want to provide my students with a wide assortment of books they can make a connection to. It is very important for children to feel included, and make personal connections to the text they are reading. Secondly, each week, I will read one story aloud to the class. I will teach weekly lessons that focus on comprehension and grammar, while using our read aloud story in this project. Students will learn new vocabulary words, actively add new information and skills into their reading and writing journals, and complete directed drawings. Lastly, with the books provided, my students will create a more complex love for reading, and will engage in lessons they can carry with them throughout their life.
