We are a rural school district in Hebron Ohio. I have been teaching here 8 years and love my job. We just started offering 12 point credentials as an way to graduate or extra training for a career. I am now teaching ServSafe and Culinary for one of those credentials. I want the experience and learning to be creative, fun, engaging, but mostly realistic. A culinary class should have certain types of equipment and I lack many things.
These stand mixers will help us to create food items we can't do with a hand mixer and make money to buy the other equipment that we need. The plan is to use what we learn and create items that we can sell to buy the other 3 stand mixers so that every lab has one. Then we will move on to the next item to fund raise for. This is the stepping stone my students and I need to be a true culinary class. They will learn how to create, market, sell, and work for what they want or need.
