This project was created to help bring new books to our classroom bookshelf. Students in my class will be doing independent reading and presenting book reports this year, so I am hoping the new books will inspire them to want to read more and share what they're reading with their fellow peers. Many students don't enjoy reading because they haven't found the right book or series YET. I am hoping that this project will bring in a variety of different books from various authors and help make my students want to read more. Many of the books and series shown on our project list are books that students have specifically asked for or were related to their interests that they shared with me. For example, we've listed some books with sports interests as well as fantasy to appeal to student interests. Thank you for taking the time to read about our project. Books are gifts that never stop giving!
