This wide variety of genres and reading levels will give my students a chance to discover new books to love and greater choice when filling their book boxes for Read to Self time during Daily 5. The selection of books also supplements the science, art, social studies, and reading units of the second grade year, unifying the subjects and broadening the students' content knowledge.
