The past couple of years in education have been unpredictable and uncertain. Looking forward, I want students to get excited about coming back to school which can be done with your help.
I want to create a morning routine where students are encouraged to choose how they would like to spend their time. Not only will they be able to take ownership of the activity they choose, but they will have an unstructured time of day to explore their own interests.
"Morning Choice" is a section of time in the morning when students arrive at school. The goal for this time is for students to make a decision about how they would like to use their time, commit their attention to a specific task, and, most importantly, develop teamwork and communication skills. Students will have the opportunity to work together on various tasks and learning the skills necessary to work as a team is vital.
Morning Choice has been shown to not only increase students engagement daily but improve student attendance as well.
