The overwhelming majority of my students are English Language Learners living in one of the most densely populated areas in our city. They are eager to learn and are full of energy, as are most Kindergarteners. Unfortunately, many of my students live in poverty. Because the majority live in apartment buildings, they do not have access to outdoor play. Their families struggle to make ends meet. Our school provides a nurturing environment for our young students. It is an oasis in a rough neighborhood. Donations to my projects will not only help my students engage in inquiry based activities, they will also help build a stronger community. But most importantly, donations will teach my students that people care enough about them to donate to our class. They will learn that we are all connected.

About my class
