These books will be used to teach diversity and inclusion, in addition to social-emotional learning skills. The books selected will provide students with multiple options for independent reading to help increase their vocabulary and literacy skills. I was intentional with the books selected, searching for books that would catch my students' attention but also increase their knowledge. I want them to love reading but to also learn something in the process. I selected a range of reading levels as well so that all of my students will be able to find something of interest that is on their reading level.
